The quicksearch bar is available from all RM Workspace screens. Your RM Workspace administrator determines which data will be searched when quicksearch is used, but usually Record number, Title and Notes fields are searched. Your RM Workspace administrator will also determine if the Quicksearch selector and Record type filter fields should be displayed in the quicksearch bar.
As you type in the quicksearch bar, if any of your previous searches contained the same characters as you have entered now, the matching previous searches will be displayed for rapid selection.
Once you have entered the required criteria into the quicksearch bar (or selected the desired previous search value from the drop down list), perform the search by pressing <enter> or clicking on the search button . Records matching your search criteria will then be displayed in the search results screen.
Tip: You can use shortcuts in the quicksearch field by entering 'string' search criteria directly into the quicksearch field using the technical field names. This feature also enables you to use HP TRIM/HPE RM's special date search criteria such as 'today' or last '30 days'. Examples include: <registeredOn:today> or <title:my test>
Up to 8 previous searches you have performed most recently, which contain the characters you have entered into the quick search bar, will be displayed in a drop down pick list for rapid selection.
If enabled by your workspace administrator, the quicksearch field selector lists each of the fields specified for inclusion in quicksearches. Instead of searching all the specified fields, the user instead determines a single field to be searched. Click on the down arrow to view the fields available for selection.
If enabled by your RM Workspace administrator, you will see the 'Record types' drop down select box to the immediate right of the quicksearch field.
After entering your search criteria into the quicksearch field, you can select one or more record types from the record type filter drop down list. When you perform your quicksearch, only records which meet the quicksearch criteria and which are of the specified record type(s) will be displayed.
