DragNdrop multiple files into RM Workspace

RM Workspace enables you to dragNdrop multiple files into RM Workspace to create new records.

DragNdrop multiple files on to a space

1. After selecting the desired records in Windows Explorer, dragNdrop those files on to any area on RM Workspace which does not display records
2. A 'Document queue' will display in the lower right of your screen, listing each of the dropped files

3. Once the files have finished uploading, the 'Check in' button against each record and the 'Batch check in' button will become active.

4. To check in a single file, creating a new record; click on the Checkin button against one of the files, complete the create new record process and then if you wish, you can repeat the process for each file listed.

5. Alternatively, you can check in all of the files displayed in the Document queue, creating a new record for each, in a single process using the 'Batch checkin' button.

Using the Batch check in option

When you use the Batch check in option, the create record process is triggered. The record type specified and any metadata entered into the new record detail screen is applied to all of the records being created in the Batch check in process. The new records are automatically titled using the filenames. You can only edit the record titles after the new record creation has occurred. You can then select the desired record and in the expanded Actions menu, click on the View properties option. In the record's Properties window you can change the title and any other metadata desired, provided you have the appropriate authority to do so.

DragNdrop multiple files on to a container behaviour record

Exactly the same applies as above with the difference that for each new record created, the container field is pre-populated with the details of the target container record and each new record is created in that container.
Note: You can change the container field value if desired in the record detail form.

DragNdrop multiple files onto an existing document behaviour record

RM Workspace assumes that if you dragNdrop multiple files on to a document behaviour record, that your action was in error and RM Workspace treats the action as if you had dropped the files on to a space. The document queue is displayed with the Batch check in and checkin buttons to initiate the create new record process for all of the files (Batch check in) or individual files.
