1. In RM Workspace, locate the document behaviour record for which you want to create a new revision by updating the record's attachment.
2. Using Windows Explorer, locate the file with which you want to update the record's attachment.
Note: Due to browser limitations, you cannot drag an email or a file attached to an email directly from the email client to RM Workspace. You can however drag the email or file from the email client to your desktop and from there you can drag it and drop it in RM Workspace to create a new record.
3. Click on the file and drag it onto the target record in RM Workspace.
When you have correctly positioned your cursor, the target record will be highlighted
4. 'Drop' the file (unclick the mouse button)
5. A confirmation request will be displayed asking you to confirm that you have the correct record selected; click on OK to proceed.
6. In the bottom right of your screen, you may briefly see a pop up 'Document queue' window displayed, but it quickly disappears and is replaced in the centre of your screen with an 'Update record success' notification, confirming the record number and name of the updated record.
7. Click on OK to close the success notification.
8. If you now review the properties of the target record onto which you dropped the file, you will note that the revision number has incremented by 1. If you updated the attachment with a different file type (eg: attachment was originally an MS Excel file, and the updated attachment is a MS Word file), RM Workspace will display the updated file type icon against the record.
Tip: Dropping a file onto a container behaviour record will always create a new record in the container. If you have any container behaviour record types which allow files to be attached (have 'digital object support'), please note that RM Workflow does not currently support the ability to dragNdrop files onto those record types to create new revisions.
